In 1991, Dougg received a full scholarship to Five Branches Institute, College of Traditional Medicine (now Five Branches University) and received his Masters of Arts in Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1996. During that same year, Dougg passed his exam to become certified as a California Licensed Acupuncturist (LAc).
